Waiting for Saylor: A Creekside Maternity Moment Filled With Joy

A year ago, I had the sweetest honor—photographing my youngest niece during those final, tender weeks of waiting for baby Saylor. Their family has always felt most at home outdoors, so capturing this season of anticipation in the natural spaces around the studio felt just right. The soft light, the trees, the quiet pockets of green… it all wrapped around her in the most peaceful way.

While I photographed Momma, little Rivers was busy living her best life with her daddy—splashing, exploring, and playing in the creek that winds through the property. It was the perfect snapshot of who they are as a family: one moment full of calm expectancy, the next filled with muddy hands, giggles, and the kind of joy that only comes from being outside together.

These are the sessions that remind me how beautifully real family stories unfold when everyone is simply allowed to be themselves.
